ABOUT STEVE

Steve sings the songs of our times. He has performed thousands of concerts throughout the Mid-Atlantic region over the past twenty-five years.
He began working as a professional musician at the age of fifteen and sings while playing guitar and piano. His repertoire runs the gamut from the Great American Songbook to Rock and Country.

Steve also has an active practice playing for and interacting with our elder population in settings ranging from independent and assisted living communities to nursing homes and memory care centers. He is the 100 birthday specialist at several facilities.
And let’s not leave out the weddings, funerals, picnics, birthday and holiday parties!

Steve wrote his one man show Dementia Melodies-”It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over” and performed it to critical acclaim at the Capital Fringe Festival in 2013.
Jane Horwitz of The Washington Post wrote “Often vivid and frequently moving…it’s easy to wish that Steve Little was the guy entertaining your folks.” It’s filled with stories about Steve’s experiences and original music.
Steve also enjoys rocking out at such Washington DC area venues as The Hamilton Loft, The Irish Inn at Glen Echo, the Bullpen at Nationals Park, Villain and Saints, and Flanagan’s Harp and Fiddle.

In 1976 he began studies with Edward F. McGuire, author of Mel Bay’s “Guitar Fingerboard Harmony,” and has been fortunate enough to study with many wonderful teachers, including Paul Wingo, Rick Whitehead, and Bobby McFerrin. Steve performs 150 solo concerts a year, focusing on The Great American Songbook, and has a solid background and knowledge of chord theory as applied to swing and big band guitar.
He asks, “What can I sing for you today?”
